Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Video Chop Chop ("we", "our", or "the service") provides online video cutting and shuffling tools and educational content for digital creators. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit videochopchop.com or use our tools. If you have questions, contact support@videochopchop.com.
1. Information we process
When you upload a video, the video file is transferred to our server for processing. We create temporary source files, video clips, ZIP archives, and, if requested, shuffled MP4 exports. We also process technical information necessary to operate the service, such as request information, IP addresses that may appear in server or infrastructure logs, browser details, error information, and session identifiers. If you email us, we receive the contact information and message you provide.
2. How uploaded videos are used
Uploaded videos are used to provide the editing actions you request, validate file types, produce downloads, prevent misuse, troubleshoot failures, and protect service availability. Videos are processed on our server; processing is not exclusively local to your browser. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded videos. Please upload only media that you have the right to process.
3. Temporary storage and deletion
The current application is configured to make inactive processing jobs eligible for deletion after approximately 120 minutes without recorded activity. An automated cleanup routine checks for expired jobs approximately once per minute. Active processing or downloads can delay removal, and further activity may reset the inactivity period. Files may also be removed when the application exits or recovers abandoned sessions. These mechanisms are not a guarantee of deletion at an exact minute. Limited technical records or backups, where applicable, may follow separate retention practices.
For sensitive or confidential media, consider whether uploading to an online service is appropriate before proceeding.
4. Cookies and session information
Our video tool uses a session cookie named vcc_session to associate processing jobs and downloads with the visitor who started them. The cookie is configured with Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax attributes and a maximum age of two hours. The private article-publishing dashboard may also use authentication and security cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent some features from working.
5. Hosting and service providers
Video files and site data are processed on infrastructure used to host this website. Our domain, business email, and hosting providers may process limited information as needed to deliver their services. Data may be processed in countries other than your own. We do not publish an exhaustive list of subprocessors here; contact us for further information about providers relevant to your request.
6. Security
We use HTTPS and technical safeguards designed to limit unauthorized access, including session-based access checks for video jobs. No internet transmission, server, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not upload files containing information you are not comfortable transmitting to an online processing service.
7. Analytics, advertising, and third-party content
We may introduce analytics, advertising, or additional third-party services in the future. This policy does not represent Google AdSense or any particular analytics platform as currently active. If such services are introduced, we will update the disclosures and provide consent choices where required by applicable law. Links to third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. Why we process information
We process information to deliver requested tools, operate and secure the website, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, and improve service reliability. Depending on applicable law, the relevant legal basis may include providing a requested service, legitimate operational interests, consent, or compliance with legal requirements.
9. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell uploaded videos. Information may be accessible to hosting or technical service providers acting on our behalf, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or manage a lawful business transition. We do not promise that uploaded media is never technically accessible to authorized administrators.
10. Your privacy choices and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or other handling of personal information. Contact support@videochopchop.com with sufficient details for us to identify the relevant request. We may need to verify your request and may not be able to recover files already removed by automatic cleanup.
11. Children
This website is intended for general creator use and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Parents or guardians with concerns may contact us.
12. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when our tools, providers, practices, or legal requirements change. Updated versions will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
