Terms of Use
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Welcome to Video Chop Chop. These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of videochopchop.com, including our online video processing tools and Creator Hub articles. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. For questions, contact support@videochopchop.com.
1. What the service provides
Video Chop Chop currently offers an online tool for dividing uploaded videos into clips, downloading clips as a ZIP archive, and creating a shuffled MP4 from generated clips. We also publish educational content for digital creators. Features marked "upcoming" are plans, not services currently available. Features, limits, and availability may change.
2. Eligibility and responsible use
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms, or use the service with appropriate permission or supervision where required. You agree to use the website lawfully and not interfere with its operation, security, or availability.
3. Your videos and intellectual property
You retain any rights you hold in videos and other material you upload. You represent that you own the material or have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload, edit, and download it. You grant Video Chop Chop a limited, non-exclusive permission to receive, temporarily store, process, and deliver your files solely to provide the actions you request and maintain the service. This permission ends when the relevant processing files are removed, except as required by law or for any limited records that must be retained.
Do not upload material that infringes copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights. We do not grant you rights in third-party content merely because our tools can process it.
4. Prohibited activity
Do not use the service to distribute or process unlawful material; violate another person's rights; upload malware or malicious code; attempt unauthorized access; bypass access controls or resource limits; overload the service through automated requests; or disrupt other visitors. We may restrict access or refuse processing when reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users, or legal compliance.
5. Upload limits and processing availability
The current application generally accepts video uploads up to 3 GiB, subject to available storage, supported formats, and other technical restrictions. Processing capacity is limited, so a request may be delayed or rejected while another upload or processing job is active. Large files, incompatible codecs, network interruptions, and resource constraints can cause failures. Upload acceptance does not guarantee a successful export.
6. Clip accuracy, audio, and output compatibility
Fast cutting uses existing video keyframes, so actual clip lengths may differ from the selected duration. Precision cutting re-encodes video to improve timing accuracy but may take longer and change quality, file size, or encoding characteristics. Audio is retained when supported by the source and processing method, but not every format, stream, or export is guaranteed to behave identically. Preview and test your output before relying on it.
7. Temporary files and downloads
Uploaded files and generated exports are temporary, not a permanent storage or backup service. Under the current default configuration, inactive jobs become eligible for automatic cleanup after approximately 120 minutes without recorded activity, with periodic cleanup checks. Active jobs and downloads may remain longer; new activity can reset the inactivity period. We cannot promise that a particular file will remain available for any minimum period or be deleted at an exact minute. Download your files promptly and keep your own backups. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
8. Creator Hub content
Articles, guides, and other educational materials are provided for general information. They are not individualized legal, financial, technical, or professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating whether any advice or workflow is suitable for your needs. Website text, branding, and original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws; you may not republish them commercially without permission unless the law allows it.
9. External services and future advertising
The website may link to third-party services, whose terms and practices are separate from ours. Advertising, analytics, or new creator tools may be added in the future; the presence of placeholders or upcoming-tool descriptions does not mean those services are already operating.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, security reasons, outages, or technical issues. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or apply reasonable usage restrictions. We do not guarantee continuous uptime, processing speed, compatibility with every device, or preservation of files.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and tools are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer protection or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Video Chop Chop is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from service interruption, processing errors, corrupted or unavailable downloads, or loss of files. This does not limit liability where such a limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot lawfully be excluded for fraud, willful misconduct, or other protected claims. Keep original copies of your media and verify all exports.
13. Copyright and rights complaints
If you believe material or use of the website infringes your rights, email support@videochopchop.com with a description of the issue, the relevant URL or material, your contact details, and an explanation of your rights. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how uploaded videos, temporary processing files, cookies, and related information are handled. By using the service, you acknowledge that your videos are transmitted to our server for processing; they are not processed solely within your browser.
15. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms operate subject to applicable laws and mandatory consumer protections. Any dispute should first be raised with us at the contact address below so we can attempt to resolve it informally. We do not designate an exclusive court or jurisdiction in this version of the Terms.
16. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
